GLORIOUS SUMMER

GLORIOUS SUMMER

Shakespeare

the world as a stage

In a 60-minute performance, actor, director and teacher Andreas Simma (most recently with the Théâtre du Soleil in Paris) plays excerpts of the works of William Shakespeare (Richard III, The Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet, Jullius Caesar, Macbeth, Richard II and others).

In a playful manner, he shows us the world as a stage, offers an insight into the art of performance and takes us to a journey through Shakespeare’s work with a selection of the English poet’s most famous monologues.

Alone, with the means of « physical theatre », with his body, his voice and a chair in the smallest of spaces, the performer shapes the « words on a white sheet of paper ».

Through the full physical commitment of a performer, the characters are brought to life and the possible non-understanding of language is no longer an obstacle.
